On May 26th, 2020, there will be a reception hosted by University of California at Irvine. On the registration form, please indicate how likely you will be able to attend the reception. The reception is a FREE event.
Banquet
On My 28th, 2020, there will be an evening banquet for SLDS 2020, held at Hyatt Regency Newport Beach, the confernece venue. Your regisration includes discount toward a banquet ticket. Additional guest tickets can be purchased when you register.
Lunches with Discussion
At SLDS 2020, we are organizing two lunch panels. The first lunch panel on May 27th, 'Statistics at Crossroads: Challenges and Opportunities' will be led by Xuming He (University of Michigan) on a recently released NSF-sponsored report, 'Statistics at a Crossroads: Who Is for the Challenge?' The report provides recommendations for the statistical community in light of the growth of data science. The second lunch panel on May 28th, ' Lead with Statistics, the NSF TRIPODS experience' will be led by Helen Hao Zhang (University of Arizona). She will share her experience as the PI for UA's TRIPODS Institute. The lunch panels are fee events.
